For ALL recommended Excursion it is essential to wear sturdy shoes (hiking-shoes) and a headdress, to pack enough water and for evening or night-hiking a flash light. Caves only visit with two flash lights. So, if one fails, you can find the way out anyhow !

Télendos was united with Kalymnos until the huge earthquake of 535 AD with tremors that lasted 2 weeks. As a result, the old village of Kellaris was going under the sea. And Télendos became a separate islet. Today little boats hourly connect these small island without any traffic, where maybe 100 people and 500 sheep were living in summer, in winter only the half of the bipeds. At Télendos you will find lonesome, pristine beaches (one for nudists), good fishing and walking and typical simply Taverns that provides really good plain fare. The view from Télendos to Myrtíes, illuminated by the evening sun is unforgettable. Getting there: By Bus or moped from Pothia to Myrties. From there to Télendos hourly by taxi-boat (10 min).

Psérimos island

With it's exquisite beaches a haven of tranquillity between Kalymnos and Kos. A few residents, a few rooms to rent and some taverns, that's it ! It boasts a nice sandy beach in a sheltered bay, perfect for swimming, paddling or splashing about. During sommer at noon the beach can be busy with day trippers - at all other times it's blessedly tranquil. And there are also some wonderful hidden beaches that are best to reach by boat.

The island is easy to reach by my boat from Vathys. It is not expensive and is worth to your while. If there is not enough time to bring you to Pserimos, I have to organise the trip for you.

Lonely bays by boat

I will bring you to lonely bays with crystal-clear water and pebble or sandbeaches, and pick you up whenever you like. Maybe you want to sleep a night at "your" beach? These bays are only reachable by boat and most of them will not be visited by big excursion boats, so that it can be happen, that you will have the whole beach for your own. Don't forget your waterproof shoes or bathing shoes for pebble beaches and your snorkel-equipment !

Please ask me for booking a guide.) Kefalas to the south (which also can be visited). It is absolutely essential to wear hiking-shoes and two flash lights !

Beaches

Kalynmos is not a typical bathing island, is has predominantly beaches with small or big pebbles. The number one beach is Massouri, a small bathing resort with narrow pebble beach, where are more people than at other beaches. You can reach it within short time by bus from pothia or by rental-car or scooter within approx. 30 min. on the new road between Vathys and Arginonda.

It is nicer to go to one of the lonely beaches of Kalymnos with crystal clear water and pebbles or sand. These bays are only reachable by boat and most of them will not be visited by big excursion boats, so that it can be happen, that you will have the whole beach for your own. I will bring you to the beach an pick you up whenever you want. Maybe you like to sleep there one night? Don't forget your waterproof shoes or bathing shoes for pebble beaches and your snorkel-equipment !

There is no naturist beach on Kalymnos. On the island Télendos, on the opposite of Myrties and Massouri, is a small nudist beach.
